Solution Requirements
The brewery's logistics have long been managed by high-performance data processing systems. The Hofbräuhaus is currently using the "OS-Brau" software package, recommended by the DocuWare partner, for handling beverage logistics. The UNIX-based solution takes care of all logistical tasks, from purchasing brewing ingredients to handling returned kegs and crates. The daily volume of transaction documents simply could not be managed using conventional storage methods such as folders and shelves.

Solution
All incoming and outgoing documents are stored in a centralized document pool. All authorized employees can view the information directly from their workstations just by clicking the mouse.

Work Process
All outgoing documents created in OS-Brau can be automatically stored as spool files. The index keywords for the document are generated from the data as it is read. Letterhead and other templates can be displayed on screen so that both the display and the printout look exactly like the original. Incoming documents are assigned a barcode and then scanned. DocuWare uses this barcode to read the index keywords generated by OS-Brau during document capture. By the time the documents reach the file cabinet their keywords are already fully indexed.

Responses to customer queries regarding invoices, outstanding deliveries and contracts can be generated immediately. The Hofbräuhaus staff uses DocuWare to view all of the documents pertaining to a customer or process on screen. Time-consuming searches through file cabinets are now a thing of the past. If necessary, all documents can easily be resent to customers, by fax, e-mail or letter. The renowned Hofbräuhaus quality is not only evident in the beer it brews but also in its customer service! |
