Callisto™ is a print server-based application, which offers a "smart print queue" service to networked office workers, and the capability of increased productivity through simple load balancing to other printers on the network.
Callisto™ allows the network administrator to have full one-stop administration control of print jobs sent to networked print devices or similar across Window NT4 and Windows 2000 networks.

that are connected to a shared queue on the print server. This queue is managed by Callisto™, which under normal conditions will pass the print job to a designated local printer.
However, Callisto™ supplies fault tolerance by monitoring the status of the print devices, and automatically redirecting print jobs to another local printer when a designated print device is out of service. This simple but very powerful concept ensures that printing services are always available to users.
Corporate Print Rooms
Callisto™ queues can also be configured by the administrator to route large print jobs to heavier duty printers, or automatically split high volume print demands between multiple networked printers using simple yet effective load balancing. In all cases where a print job has been re-directed, a notification is sent to the owner.
