Using i-file PrintRoom you can send printer-ready documents from within any Windows application, via an Internet or network connection, straight to a print room as easily as you would to a local desktop printer. It provides a seamless and practical answer to the age-old problems of submitting large print jobs remotely.
Users wishing to send a job to the print room select the PrintRoom printer driver, which activates a 'pop up' screen in the form of a job ticket (see below). The Job Ticket is sent with the document to tell the print room staff how it is to be printed, finished and delivered.
 |
For external Users and clients, print jobs can be submitted to a secure mailbox via the Internet. Print room managers can update the facilities and features offered in a job ticket at any time. The PrintRoom driver will automatically be updated the next time a User sends a job to the print room. (Users can also check for updates before they print if they want).
PrintRoom compresses files into an EPS format prior to sending which means a smaller file size and, more importantly, no other software applications are required.
Upon arrival in the print room the print job is automatically converted from EPS to PDF format so print room staff can preview jobs before printing and then select the most appropriate device for the job. Font substitution and page |
reformatting does not occur and there is no need to hold a local copy of the application that was used to create the job. PrintRoom printer drivers are freely distributable and can be used in conjunction with i-file Print-Flo or as a solution in it's own right. i-file PrintRoom provides a complete solution for high volume clients and greater flexibility for Users who want to produce large or high volume quality documents.
